Have you ever had this happen to you:
You walk into a particular area of a building or bus stop or wherever. You sit down and you don't look at the other people around you for a while because you're trying to get comfortable. Once you become comfortable with your sitting arrangements, you then look around. Immediately, you spot someone who looks a little familiar, but, of course, you don't know the person. You just know the item of clothing they're wearing. Because you're wearing the exact same thing.
This has happened to me numerous times this school semester. A woman on my way to school had the same sweater as me, and it would be awkward seeing her because I would see her at the exact same time every day for 4 days straight a week.
I was also going to visit my friend in a neighbouring city, and, at the bus stop, I found 2 women with the exact same jacket I was wearing. One of the ladies sat directly across from me, which was a little awkward because I think the other passengers were staring at the two of us, like, "Do they know each other? If they don't, that's awkward." The other woman asked the driver something (I was too far away to hear their conversation) and then she walked away. The bus left the stop, and passed by a Price Smart Foods. Lo and behold, I saw another woman pushing a shopping card across the parking lot WITH THE EXACT SAME JACKET. Seriously?!
It didn't help that I got the jacket from popular store, and most of my city's inhabitants shop at this particular wholesale store. I see many different colours of the same jacket around too, so it's definitely awkward for me whenever I see one.
Also, every one of the other women with the jacket seems to be in their early 40s. AWESOME.
