Same Clothes

Have you ever had this happen to you:
You walk into a particular area of a building or bus stop or wherever. You sit down and you don't look at the other people around you for a while because you're trying to get comfortable. Once you become comfortable with your sitting arrangements, you then look around. Immediately, you spot someone who looks a little familiar, but, of course, you don't know the person. You just know the item of clothing they're wearing. Because you're wearing the exact same thing.
This has happened to me numerous times this school semester. A woman on my way to school had the same sweater as me, and it would be awkward seeing her because I would see her at the exact same time every day for 4 days straight a week.
I was also going to visit my friend in a neighbouring city, and, at the bus stop, I found 2 women with the exact same jacket I was wearing. One of the ladies sat directly across from me, which was a little awkward because I think the other passengers were staring at the two of us, like, "Do they know each other? If they don't, that's awkward." The other woman asked the driver something (I was too far away to hear their conversation) and then she walked away. The bus left the stop, and passed by a Price Smart Foods. Lo and behold, I saw another woman pushing a shopping card across the parking lot WITH THE EXACT SAME JACKET. Seriously?!
It didn't help that I got the jacket from popular store, and most of my city's inhabitants shop at this particular wholesale store. I see many different colours of the same jacket around too, so it's definitely awkward for me whenever I see one.
Also, every one of the other women with the jacket seems to be in their early 40s. AWESOME.

Jealousy

Have you ever been jealous of a family member? Well, I have. On multiple occasions. More recently though, I looked at my cousin's FB profile (who I unfriended a while ago) to see that she's gotten herself quite the stage. She really wants to get into journalism, so she has a kind of column at her university's paper. (Her university is a well-known one and is all paid for her by her dad.) She also blogs about good restaurants and the like in and around her home city, and places she travels too. (She traveled, travels, and will travel a lot because, again, of her father.)
Are you getting the picture here? I'm jealous because she got to do things in her life that I have yet to experience; I don't have cash to throw around! I probably won't be able to travel for a while; I won't eat at different cafes and restaurants because I don't want to pay a certain amount of money just to be disappointed; I don't know what to do with my life; and I certainly don't like strangers peeking into my world!...Even though this blog is seeming to do that...Maybe I'm becoming more open? Hah, I doubt that, doesn't seem like a lot of you know about this blog, and I'm not sure how I feel about that yet.
Anyway, this is kind of like a rant, and I don't have anything else to say.

Life Update

Hey y'all...Technically it's all y'all, since there are possibly multiple of you reading this post...Anyway. You learn something new every day :)
I'm at home right now, waiting for a Telus techie to finish his work. Unfortunately, I have to miss school in order for me to wait until he leaves. (Unfortunate, you ask? Well, it would have been a good idea for me to go to class today, since the prof would be talking about what's coming up on the final...Now tell me it's not unfortunate.)
Right now, I should be writing my re-write of my Archaeology paper...But I'm lazy. I think I'm going to watch the NCIS episode I missed last night online. Silly CBS decided to air "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" in the NCIS slot, so NCIS was at 9 instead of 8, which meant I had to decide between NCIS or Ringer. Obviously, I chose Ringer, because it's waaaay more dramatic and gets my heart racing, which is good, for me :P
Well, that's all I wanted to say...And that my mom's away for the week and I end up having to drive everyone to work and school and work, and then take the bus to school (because there's no way I would drive all the way to school AND pay for parking. Too much money to be spent on a car...), so needless to say, I'm exhausted. I'd say good thing I don't have a job on top of all that this week, but having a job would be good: I could know how my mom would feel every day.

Sometimes I think it's good that my mom goes away for a while, just so I could appreciate her more every other day that she's around...Deep thinking, those are my middle names ;)

Ok, I'm going to go now. Probably start on that paper...Or wait for NCIS to load :D

Blackberry vs iPhone

This was last week, but I was on the bus going home, sitting at the back. Usually I don't look at people while on the bus because they're either doing one of four things: reading a 24 or Metro newspaper or a book that he or she brought; listening to music; texting or doing whatever on his or her phone; or just sitting, waiting for his or her stop to come up. But this one particular time, I decided to look up and see who was sitting around me. I promise you, 5 out of 9 people had Blackberrys. I don't know what they were doing, or why, but they all had Blackberrys in their hands.

Now, I'm not sure if you noticed or not, but we're at an era where Blackberrys are becoming non-existant aka those Blackberry users are switching over to iPhone 4s or 4Ss because iPhones are becoming exceedingly better than Blackberrys. It's crazy. I don't quite understand it, because I'm one of those people who just wants a phone that can text and call people, that's it!

So, where do you stand: Blackberry or iPhone?
Were you a Blackberry owner? Do you still have it, or did you switch to a different phone?
Let me know in the comments!

The Pen is ACTUALLY Mightier Than the Sword...Who Knew?

I take a bus to and from school most days of the week, which takes three hours, there and back. Today, I took the bus home. (My mom took me with her to work, and I took other means of transportation to get to school, which is a lot quicker and more convenient.) Anyway. For some reason, I was thinking about my Archaeology class and how I'm going to study for the final. For the previous two midterms, I made study guides...Well, for the first midterm I made a study guide; I failed at making a second one. And then I realized why I didn't make a second study guide for my second midterm: it was because of the pen!

Ok, yeah, I realize that this might not make sense at first, but hear me out.

You know how pens sometimes suck at being pens? For example, you reach for a pen in a pen holder, start to write, and it doesn't write=ink is not coming out of the pen. Therefore, you take another pen from the same pen holder to find that, again, no ink is coming out of the writing utensil. This goes on for the next few pens that you touch, UNTIL you find a pen that works. You're saying, "Hallelujah, thank God," or whatever and theeeeeen, it starts to run out. You know, when the ink starts to get streaky right before it runs out. Yup, you know what I'm talking about.

Well, that streakiness happened with me when I was writing the study guide for my second midterm, EXCEPT the pen wasn't going to run out! The ink cartridge was, and still is (because it's still in my pencil case), completely full. There was no way that I was going to write an entire three, double-sided study guide with a streaky blue pen.

Go find another blue pen then, you say. Are you kidding? When you start writing a paper or a journal entry or whatever you're doing with that pen, and you do so for a page and a half, you start to not want to use the pen, and lose the motivation to find another one.

Result of the story, I didn't finish the study guide. Ironically, I did better on my second midterm than I did on my first.

Moral of the story...Well, I don't usually do morals, so take from this blog what you will :)

Randomness

I realized, I could be experimenting with these fonts. And I'm not. I also realize that there are different sizes, colours, and so forth. Now I just need to figure out which one I should be using for these blogs...That might take a while. But, knowing me, I'll probably figure it out, sooner than later. And I'll probably go with the one that I use the most in daily life...Which is VERDANA! I mean, this is the font I use for writing emails and such.

PS. This was supposed to be a "real" blog, but it turned out to be this...Wait one moment, while I write the "real" blog...

PPS. I also realized that most of the first paragraph is highlighted in white. I didn't meant for that to happen. It just did. But I'm going to leave it because I have no idea where the white highlighting started and how to get rid of it -_-

UNI D:

I have a quiz and a midterm tomorrow...and I should be studying. Instead, I'm here, making another blog post...How does that make sense?
Right now, I'm craving chocolate. I could go upstairs and get some, but I choose not to because I've already eaten about 80% of my door-to-door Halloween chocolate, and my mom would probably tell me to stop eating so many sweets.
I am also awaiting 8 PM for How I Met Your Mother to come on TV.
Oh the life of a university student...If you'd consider me to be a university student, which I don't XD

Sunday 6 November 2011

So...Hi!

I didn't think I would ever start one of these things...I would think instead that those who had a blog would just spill their guts out in public for someone like a school classmate to find. How embarrassing would that be? Very. But how could a classmate find the blog if that classmate didn't know that you had a blog?...Now I'm just confusing myself, and I think I'm confusing you too. Anyway, I going to make one...I got peer pressured okay? (AKA a lot of my friends were starting blogs, so, hey, why can't I have one? Silly reason, but we'll see where this online journal thing goes.) I'm not sure what this blog will be about, but I'm sure I'll found out eventually. (This is exactly how my YouTube channel is going. I still don't know why I started filming myself. And no, I won't tell you my username on that popular site. I don't want to be embarrassed anymore than I am already going to be by this blog.)
I'll see ya later. Maybe.
